How to obtain a Concealed Handgun License
Hood River County residents interested in applying for a Concealed Handgun License must first take a gun safety class or show proof of recent completion of a gun safety class which includes a component on handgun safety. Registration and enrollment in gun safety classes can be made through local area gun shops or through a qualified NRA instructor.
Upon completion of a class, citizens should bring the following to the Sheriff’s Business Office at 309 State, Street, Hood River, OR 97031, 541-386-2098, weekdays from 9am - 4pm.
· Oregon Driver License and proof of citizenship (government issued birth certificate or passport).
· Proof of Handgun Safety Class completion.
· Check or exact cash for $65 (new applicants) or $50 (renewals) payable to Hood River County Sheriff.
Please allow up to 6 weeks for processing.
Once fully processed and approved, cards will be mailed to the address listed on the application.
