Search and Rescue

This plane was obtained in 1991 with Title III funds.  It is a Boarder Patrol surplus.  The plane is a 2 place tandom.  The tandom seats allow both the pilot and passenger to observe from both sides of the plane.  The PA18-150 primarily uses as an aerial observation platform and a communications relay for Search and Rescue, patrol functions and locating fires.

This plane was obtained in 1993 with Title III funds.  This plane is a DEA surplus.  It is a 6 passenger craft that can transport medical supplies and personnel in a 300 to 500 mile area.  This plane is considered a medium range transport.  The plane is used for aerial observation and communications relay.

1971 Cessna T210K

Our snow cat was purchased with Title III funds.  The snow cat can transport 8 personnel and equipment.  It provides transport to remote areas that cannot be accessed during the snow season by regular patrol vehicles.  The snow cat has been mostly used to transport the Crag Rat team up and down the mountain on the North side climbing routes of Mt Hood and Cloud Cap.

The Sheriff’s Office has a pickup that is outfitted for Search and Rescue.  The vehicle is equipped with many accessories from ropes, harnesses, minimal medical supplies, blankets, a litter and other accessories.  The vehicle is ready to go at all times.  The vehicle is used to transport equipment and personnel to and from incidents.

The Sheriff’s Office has 2 ATV’s that are used as off road transportation in locating missing persons, narcotics activities and patrolling large events.  The Artic Cat was purchased with Title III funds.
